The 2024 edition of the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival, running from April 25 to May 5, will screen several Dutch documentaries. Mariia Ponomarova's "Nice Ladies," about a group of older Ukrainian cheerleaders who maintain their friendship while each navigating the trauma of war in their own way, makes its international premiere in the Art of Resistance section. "Sweeties" by Natalie Bruijns & Anneke de Lind van Wijngaarden, about three 13-year-old Dutch girls who experience their first romance at a French campsite, and Kinshuk Surjan's "Marching in the Dark", about the first steps towards a resilient women's movement, will also have their North American premieres.
